My partner went here three weeks ago and was raving about the Gorgonzola gnocchi and being a big fan of gnocchi we came here to try it! We were completely blown away! From entering the restaurant to meeting the waiter the environment and the fresh bread you get when you sit down, you feel as though you are in a little slice of Italy! The food and service were outstanding. We started off with the eggplant bruschetta it was a 10/10 and the beet salad another 10/10. We also got the balsamic salad which after the flavors from the beet salad and egg plant it was a little "simple". We then proceeded to order the "Melina" pizza a mushroom truffle pizza which is a winner ... the steelhead salmon cooked perfection and of course the Gorgonzola gnocchi with Italian sausage with every bite you could taste sausage the rich flavors of the gnocchi truly a staple. This is a place if you're craving good Italian food!! I will definitely be back!

We have been dining with Mamma Melina since they opened on 25th NE. We visited the original in the University District while attending UW. The food and atmosphere is amazing but the draw that continues to bring us back is the staff. Evangeline has been with MM since they opened on 25th. The care, attention to detail and genuine service we receive from Evangeline is why our first thought of where to go to dinner is Mamma Melina's.

I tried this out during Seattle Restaurant Week and thought it was wonderful! Was super happy that there was connected parking- I hate looking for parking. There was even an entrance directly from the garage into the restaurant! We were greeted quickly and seated at a table by the windows. We made a reservation for a Monday evening which probably wasn't necessary, but it was still moderately busy. I bet you would need one for later in the week. The wine and cocktail list was excellent, very Italian. I got some Sangiovese. To start, I got the burrata and felt it was the perfect portion for one, accompanied by some fresh veggies. I got the seafood pasta for my main and was happy they were able to accommodate me with gluten free pasta. They had a solid handful of gluten free and vegetarian options for me! The sorbet for dessert exceeded my expectations, being served in a cute glass with a garnish. Our waiter was kind and thorough and knew exactly who ordered what and in what way. The service was really well timed for the three course meal so that we had time to enjoy but never waited around. There is a very romantic ambiance here that I appreciated. They have a heated outdoor patio, but then you miss out on the magic of the chandeliers. Would be a great spot for a romantic date or a group dinner in one of their lovely group dining rooms.

Have come here a few times and always love the romantic Italian environment. Foccacia bread always hits, as do the cocktails. Love all day happy hour deals on Sunday and Monday where you can get half off bar menu items like the rich tortellini and spaghetti alla puttanesca. Great service always!

This place has my favorite happy hour in Seattle and it has been for years. They offer a delicious bar menu of Italian pasta, pizza, and other dishes and during happy hour it's all half off. My favorites are the Gorgonzola gnocchi, the Caesar salad, and the spicy meatballs. They are great about accommodating dietary restrictions, even offering gluten free options for pasta and pizza. They always have a good selection of Italian and local wines too. My friend swears by their blood orange martini and orders it almost every time. The bartenders and waiters are friendly and attentive, even when it's hopping, which is often. I've been here for events and in the main dining area too and it's all comfortable and cozy. Their patio is lovely during a sunny warm day. Note -- happy hour is only in the bar area though!

New as of July 2024: gluten free crostini appetizer!!!! Consistently great service, delectable food, yummy cocktails (try that blood orange martini from the bar!), a relaxed but 'polished' atmosphere PLUS gluten-free penne pasta that doesn't seem like it is - Mamma Melina is tops for always bringing this combination. I think my only 'complaint' from visiting Mamma Melina 2-3 times every year for the last 15+ was that they'd have more gluten free options (and maybe removing dairy from their bolognese ... and maybe a larger bar area for happy hour). Knowing the focaccia bread provided for the table was just perfect and doing my best to avoid the gluten (I'm developing 'character'?!) was a little bit of a challenge and then - behold! - they decided to make crostini with buttata (some kind of sprinkling with chili flakes, which I declined cause No Heat Please). Shoulda taken a picture but was too excited to just eat them! Soooo excellent - you'd think they have gluten: crispy-but-not-too-crispy edges and chewy centers, with some drizzled oil on top and dipping balsamic/oil on the side. Was there last night and am already wondering when I can go again. Oh, and the bolognese is divine. The salads are fresh. You really can't go wrong with anything at Mamma Melina.

I love this location of mama Melina's! It's always super clean and well set, the outdoor seating area is a huge bonus and I love the open spaces/windows. We had a to go order but staff seemed friendly and was prompt through check out. Would have been nice if meal had come with a little side of bread (in hindsight I should have ordered some lol). The marg pizza was cooked perfectly, not too much crust of sauce, all the right portions of ingredients. Got a side of veggies too which was super fresh and delicious. Will be back to try some more pasta dishes and update review. Wouldn't take super young ones here but great vibe for adultsb
